Mirror, mirror on the Wall, who is the Biggest Liar of them All?

POLITIFACT'S LYING SCOREBOARD
 and

Trump and his supporters (Giuliani, Hannity, Christie, campaign manager Paul Manafort, campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson, etc.) Do two things: (1) They lie, and (2) They don’t know what they are talking about.

The lies are blatant and repeated over and over until some people, and eventually most people, will start to believe them. We now need to check every fact and statement uttered by the candidates and although Hillary Clinton has acquired the adjective “crooked,” it is Trump who lies the most by far. See Politifact’s Lying Scoreboard.

Here is but a fraction of the lies that the Trump has disseminated about Hillary:

1. In early August, Trump claimed that Hillary Clinton had a plan to raise the middle class’ taxes. His ads spliced and doctored a speech in which Hillary Clinton announced exactly the OPPOSITE, namely that she will NOT raise the middle class’ taxes. The news clippings used by the Trump campaign simply cut off the word “NOT.”
Rudolph Giuliani has shamelessly used the same falsified footage to lie about Hillary Clinton and to accuse her of saying exactly the OPPOSITE of what she actually said.

2. Similarly, Sean Hannity and others have used fraudulent news footage to accuse Hillary Clinton of being “disgustingly” indifferent to the murder of four Americans in Benghazi: That footage was taken when Hillary Clinton testified in Congress, said that the murders were a tragedy, and then added “what difference does it make, whether the murders were committed by an organized terrorist cell or by a spontaneous terrorist riot?” The people at Fox cut out the italicized words, and now millions of Americans believe that Clinton didn’t give damn about the Benghazi murders.

3. Donald Trump and his supporters keep repeating that Clinton wants to repeal the 2nd amendment. She has NEVER said that. To the contrary, she has said that she does NOT wish to repeal it.

4. Of course, there is Trump’s famous August 9 statement that, as far as Hillary’s plan to repeal the 2nd Amendment is concerned, “there is nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is...” And the Trumpites’ desperate effort afterwards to spin this as a harmless joke (“sarcasm”).

5. At the July Republican convention, there was the plagiarism incident, whereby part of the speech given by Trump’s wife Melania had been lifted from Michelle Obama’s eight-year old speech. The most humorous aspect of this brouhaha were the contortions of Trump campaign managers such as Manafort in their denials that this was plagiarism. This guy went so far as to suggest that Melania used the same “common words” as Michelle Obama ACCIDENTALLY!

6. On about August 17, the Trump campaign started a new line of attack: That Hillary Clinton is not strong and healthy enough for the presidency. Proof? There is a video showing that during a recent interview she was using a pillow to sit on, so as to protect her lower lumbar. “Why won’t she release a full medical report about her physical condition?” The folks at Fox News are clamoring. “What is she hiding?” But here is the funniest part: As far as Trump’s OWN physical condition is concerned: On August 17, Rachel Maddow shared with us the hilarious one-page report by some obscure (or dead) physician which states “To Whom My Concern” that Trump’s health is “extraordinarily excellent” and that all his tests came out “positive,” so nothing to worry about!

7. On August 13, Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson told CNN’s Victor Blackwell that the Afghan war was started by President Obama in 2009!

8. My co-passenger on a recent United Airlines flight insisted that most of the money donated to the Clinton Foundation ended up in the Clinton’s private pockets. But according to Factchecker.org., that just isn’t so. The Clinton Foundation does most of its charitable work itself.; it is an ‘operating foundation’ and it doesn’t give money to non-profits. It spends 89% of its revenue for such programs.

There is no point trying to rehash the entire comprehensive list of absurdities that have come out of the Trump campaign. That would be impossible. There is no need, because they seem to be getting bigger and funnier all the time, so we are in for a treat. In fact, let me help a little bit. Here are a few things the Trump campaign could float in coming weeks:

9. America must once again become the great military power it was when it defeated the Soviet Union in World War Two.

10. It was because of President Roosevelt’s socialistic policies that the stock market crashed in 1929.

11. We should get out of NATO, as it obligates us to come to the aid of countries like Saudi Arabia, even though these countries call us “Satan.”

12. First Mexico annexed thousands of miles of US territory in the 19th century, and now they are invading the rest of our country with millions of illegal immigrants.

13. There is no proof that smoking is bad for you. I know plenty of people who smoke and who could beat the socks off you.

14. Argue that it was actually Michelle Obama who plagiarized Melania Trump.

15. No other country has helped blacks as much as America has. First we abolished slavery in America and then we forced the Europeans and all those other countries to abolish slavery.

16. The first thing Hitler and the Nazis did in Germany was to confiscate all the guns, and that’s how they were able to take over the government.

17. Muslims have always waged war against Christianity, even back when Jesus was still alive.
